Look-See Limited ("Look-See", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use look-see.ie, why we collect it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect and why
Look-See does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the Service.
| Data | Why we collect it | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|
| IP address (temporary) | To apply rate limiting and protect the service from abuse. Stored briefly in server cache only. | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Anonymised usage data | We use self-hosted Umami analytics to collect page views, referrer URLs, browser type, and country. This data is fully anonymised — no cookies are used, no IP addresses are stored, and no individual visitors can be identified. | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
We do not use cookies for advertising, analytics, or tracking. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party tracking services.
3. Third parties
Our analytics tool (Umami) is self-hosted on our own server. No analytics data is shared with any third party. We do not sell or share any data with third parties.
4. How long we keep data
- IP addresses for rate limiting: stored temporarily in server cache (typically minutes to hours) and not retained beyond that purpose.
- Analytics data: retained in aggregate form on our server. No individual visitor data is stored.
- Search queries: not stored. Searches are processed in real time and discarded.
5. Your rights under GDPR
Because Look-See does not collect personal data beyond temporary IP addresses for rate limiting, the practical impact of data rights requests is minimal. However, you retain the following rights:
- Right of access — you can request confirmation of whether we hold any personal data about you.
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete any personal data we may hold.
- Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Cookies
Look-See does not use cookies. Our analytics solution (Umami) is cookieless and does not store any data on your device.
7. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the service, including HTTPS encryption for all traffic and CSRF protection.
8. Children
Look-See is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
10. How to contact us or make a complaint
